Surels Place Presents: Illuminate
Illuminate is an immersive experience that takes place once a year in the heart of the live, work, create district in Garden City. Artists from all different backgrounds produce projection art for the public to navigate through and explore the different ideas through their visual media.
For this project I wanted to explore what it meant to be born and evolve through the eyes of artificial intelligence. The absurd and sometimes disturbing visuals give viewers the opportunity to see how the AI may interpret human movement and form. Using the latest in AI video generation tech, 3D modeling and video effects; these forms were composited together to create an exploration that the viewer could easily engage with.
This was the 2nd year of the Illuminate event, with 7 artists projecting unique works on buildings throughout the district. The result was a magical, surreal environment that engaged viewers of all ages in an immersive journey.
